SERVICE

We provide customers with free burr-free cold-rolled stainless steel strip service. The steel belts produced by Yaoyi Stainless Steel have “safe edges” so as not to cut the operator’s hands. At the same time, we have 7 slitting machines, which can help customers to divide the stainless steel strip to the specified width. For example, the narrowest width we can cut is 1mm.

 

LABORATORY

Yaoyi Stainless has an advanced laboratory. We will test the raw materials purchased on each roll. And we also do various tests for each roll of steel strip produced. If you request, we can do stainless steel composition test, hardness test, and tensile test for you free of charge. CAN WATER HEATER LAST 20 YEARS?

Yes, if it is a stainless steel water heater. Large home appliance manufacturers and power companies developed electric water heaters. WHICH GRADE IS SUITABLE FOR THE STAINLESS STEEL WATER HEATER?

SUS304

Commonly, the stainless steel water heaters use SUS304 (18Cr-8Ni) to make. However, stress corrosion cracking occurred many times. After investigating the chloride ion concentration of tap water in various places, the most suitable ferritic stainless steel SUS444 (19Cr-2Mo-Ti, Nb-LC) with high corrosion resistance. Although ferritic stainless steel (like SUS444) prevented stress corrosion fracture is a perfect countermeasure.  However, sporadic crevice corrosion still occurs at the joints between the upper and lower heads of the hot water tank and the cylinder. In that way, it solved the problem of strengthening the welding quality and the management of the joint gap.

In addition, the too narrow assembly gap is the cause of crevice corrosion. Therefore, it is necessary to appropriately increase the assembly gap. There was an investigation of the inside of the recycled old electric water heater hot water tank.  Due to the use of 444 stainless steel (SUS444), there was almost no corrosion inside the hot water tank. However, due to other parts, damage and that causes many quality accidents. It is saying that the stainless steel of the electric water heater cylinder is the most suitable product for the “selection of functional materials”. HOW TO MAKE THE CYLINDER OF STAINLESS STEEL WATER HEATER?

Processing aspect: The upper and lower heads are using and stamping stainless steel sheet with a thickness of 1.0~1.2mm. The cylinder is 0.6~0.8mm, welded into a cylinder by TIG, and then the upper head is welded from the inside, and the lower head is welded from the outside. Considering the upper part of the water heater changes repeatedly between the gas phase. Also the liquid phase due to the change of the water level. Likewise, the chlorine concentration gradually increases, which is prone to corrosion. Therefore, most of the upper welds are welded from the inside. As mentioned earlier, it is worth controlling the gap between the lower head and the cylinder strictly.

Are stainless steel water heaters worth it?

Stainless steel electric water heater tanks will be more expensive than enamel materials, but it is worth it. Because it will not rust. As we all know, the water quality in many places is not good, because there are many impurities, it is alkaline. Over time, impure water and air will slowly corrode water heaters made of non-stainless steel. Therefore, if we use stainless steel to produce electric water heaters, its corrosion resistance is better, and in the long run, its economic benefits will be higher.
